  • Born: 1740, Baptized 6 mar Graasbølgaard, Skodborg
  • Married 14 Jun 1765, Skodborg, to Kjesten Olufsen (Vollesen)
  • Died: 25 Dec 1817, Skodborg
  • Occupation: Farmer / Gaardmand

Jesper Pedersen moved the farm to a field which was called Graaspell field. The farm got the name Graaspellgaard and the people were called the Graaspellers. The name means grey willow (This is probably not true - the ending -bøl (boll/boel) means outlying farm - you find a lot of places in Denmark especially in the southern part of Jutland with the ending -bøl. The first use of this ending (bøl) dates back to the viking age - MGP). When the family in 1790 started to baptize the children Graasbøl, it was the country parson, who decided the spelling.

(I have decided to write the names exactly as they are spelled in the parish records if I know it for sure. - Morten Grosbøl Poulsen)
